See All ReviewsWent here many times before he was turned to Lombardis and got to say for the past month and a half my husband and I have been getting the tacos on Wednesdays, so so good! Keep it up guys!
I have been here twice since hammerjax was sold this was my third time. My boyfriend and I walked in, the bartender looked at us and kept talking and turned around. I said excuse me we have 7 total can we sit at a table? Mind you it was so dead all the tables are open. She says “as long as your getting dinner” which obviously we were. Either way, if 7 of us wanted to sit together over drinks is that not allowed? Our server was new and super great and awesome. She was wonderful. I met my aunt and uncle there and their 3 kids teenagers and a 10 year old. The pool tables were completely open and they refused to let my cousins play pool saying it’s 18 and older. Which I have never heard of at any bar/restaurant. Even with my uncle playing with his kid they still refused. They allowed them to play shuffleboard though. Which made no sense to me. Also I asked to split the check with the 5 of them on one and my boyfriend and I on the other. We were told no. I said well if me and my boyfriend sit at the table next to this one can we be on one check and then those 5 on their own? Made zero sense. The poor server did the math for us split by seat. I know they can separate checks at the bar 10 feet over. It was just a hassle for no reason. Hammerjax was a place I enjoyed. I could see if the place was packed or we had a party of 10 and up. The crab dip is typically great, I poured a whole side plate full of grease off of the dip. We still ate it. I don’t understand the hassle of two checks and kids playing pool with 7 people in the bar. You’d think after our server checking with the “owner” so many times that they would have just came over to our table to speak to us directly. I have never heard of an 18 and up rule to play pool. Either you’re a bar/restaurant with available games for your patrons or you’re a bar 21 and over. lol. Why can you play shuffle board with no issue? Also seems like you can only enjoy a table instead of a bar seat if you order food. Sounds to me like the server can only keep the tip with food on the check and not just serving their table drinks. Sounds like a business system issue. Thank you to our wonderful server though. She was sweet as pie! As for the rest, do you want people to come back or no? I would say this experience is not family friendly. I’m not sure if the bartender was making up rules as it went or if this is an everyday thing. I typically sit at the bar with my friends and have no issues with split checks and etc. 18 and up to play pool is not a thing at any place I have ever been to lol. Crazy to me. Shuffleboard is probably more of a no kids game than pool. Also you can split checks. Especially between a family of 5 and a couple of 2. I served and bartended for 13 years. Cmon now. If the place was some what busy it would be a different review. I never write reviews but this was ridiculous for a Tuesday night with maybe 10 people in the bar and our check together being over 300$. Like let the kid play pool with his dad. Not a good look. Take notes from hammerjax, Indian lake inn, or pretty much any bar around here. Our server deserves a praise. She got everything correct, and was very attentive. We wish her well at her new job here! The girl was so new she kept having to go in the back to ask questions. Ya think whoever was giving her a he answers would have came over to talk to us with her. Customer Service is key. Also help your server out with guidance. I hope she gets the complete gratuity on our one check over 300$. She deserves every penny.
Have had many meals here and the only item i didnt like was the chili. Way too sweet for chili. Everything else has been amazing. I try something new each visit but so far the pulled pork panani is my favorite.
